Lima, Peru Report
by Brian Larsen SOC Director
In the country of Peru, we are seeing that the School of Christ is still making an impact. For the first two weeks of June, I had the privilege of being with Brazilian Missionary Valdecir Quevedo in Lima, Peru.
He is the Missionary that we worked with in the country of Paraguay and actually played the initial part for us to not only have the School of Christ there in that country, but opened the door for us again to go into the country of Brazil which remains open until today. He also held night schools in the congregations where he was Pastor in Paraguay.
He went to Peru over three years ago to plant churches. In March 2008, Bro. Quevedo had the first service in the house of a Peruvian family and is using the School of Christ classes (on cd), as a foundation to establish new churches. Since that time, every new church that opens begins with teachings of the School of Christ.
Bro. and Sis. Quevedo study with new brothers in their homes, in their very own home if necessary, or even in the workplace of the new brothers. Today, by God's grace, they have planted six churches. While I was with them, they celebrated the 3rd anniversary of the church. We are excited for them and pray that the SOC can continue to be an instrument that will help strengthen the churches and the new brothers and sisters in Christ.
We are praying about the possibility of holding a School in the city of Lima in the near future.
God Bless,
Bro. Brian Larsen
